Head of Risk Management


Description

As the Head of Risk, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the risk management framework for our exchange, mitigating financial, operational, and compliance risks. You will work closely with leadership, compliance, security, and trading teams to ensure risk controls are robust and aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in risk management within financial services, fintech, or cryptocurrency exchanges.

  • Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, financial markets, and regulatory requirements in the crypto and traditional finance space.

  • Familiarity with blockchain technology, digital assets, and DeFi risk considerations.

  • Experience in risk management for derivates and leverage businesses

  • Experience with AML/KYC, fraud prevention, and market surveillance tools.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven mindset.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry with a proactive approach to risk management.

  • Relevant certifications such as FRM, CFA, or CAMS are a plus.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the overall risk management strategy for the business.

  • Identify, assess, and monitor risks related to trading, cybersecurity, liquidity, credit, market volatility, operational inefficiencies, and regulatory compliance.

  • Establish and oversee risk controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate potential threats.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and stress tests to ensure platform stability.

  • Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure adherence to global regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor market trends and emerging risks within the cryptocurrency and financial industry.

  • Lead investigations into risk-related incidents, ensuring timely resolution and reporting.

  • Implement automated and real-time risk monitoring tools and develop risk models.

  • Develop risk mitigation strategies for counterparty risk, AML, and fraud prevention.

  • Provide risk-related insights and reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.

  • Foster a culture of risk awareness across the organization through training and guidance.
